Bob smith m39 stock crack7/27/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() The lever and hammer have handling rub and operational wear, with mild surface oxidation. There are some surfaces experiencing a shift to mottled gray and orange patina and very light pin prick erosion. The case coloring of the frame and receiver is still vivid and bright. The magazine tube and lever show an even patina throughout. Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 90% of its metal finish. There does not appear to be any erosion in the bore. Type of Finish: Blue with Case Colored Receiverīore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling shows light wear and is well defined. The stocks rate in about Good-Very Good overall condition. The buttplate shows some scattered little nicks and dings along the edges and the checkering is generally sharp. The LOP measures 13 1/4” from the front of the trigger to the back of the hard rubber buttplate. It is easily overlooked and something most would probably not mention. The butt stock shows a few compression marks and there is a tiny hairline crack on the top of the wrist at the rear of the tang with the grain. The forend has some scattered compressions and little scratches that have darkened with age. Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece smooth select walnut set with an “S” shaped pistol grip, capped forearm, Marlin bullseye in the belly, and a hard rubber Marlin buttplate. The bead is missing and the blade is slightly bent. The front sight is a beaded blade on a dovetailed base, located near the muzzle. Sights / Optics: This rifle is mounted with a “V” notched rear elevator sight dovetailed into the barrel. U.S.A.-PATENTED”, the left is marked “22 S L & L.R.” The lower tang is marked with the serial number and the inside of the frame is marked “632”.
